Description
This one year course will introduce students to the concepts of consumer math. In this course, students will be introduced to a wide range of topics, including securing a job, managing finances, big-ticket purchases, financial planning, and more. This course is designed to be used as a student’s first introduction to the world of adulting.
Class videos will include teacher-led instruction, facilitated discussions, demonstrated exercises, and an overview of the coming week’s lessons. Students will also have the opportunity to bounce ideas off each other, discuss the class material, and ask questions. Additional activities may be suggested to help reinforce the learning, but are not required. Course lessons are pre-recorded, with weekly, facilitated interaction occurring through a private discussion feed. Students will be able to digitally show off completed projects as well.
This is a self-paced course. Your student has one year from date of purchase to complete the coursework. You may enroll up to two kids from the same household in same class at same time. The second student is deeply discounted through the Second Student option, which must be purchased at the same time.
Sparks Academy does provide an official grade for students. This covers feedback on discussions, projects, worksheets, and online unit quizzes.
